Nokia 5800

Xpressmusic (free with £15-a-month contract, £250 SIM-free) Despite losing its cool 'Tube' moniker, Nokia's first touchscreen mobile has a lot going for it. I've been living with one my in pocket for the past two weeks and - for once - I haven't found myself pining for my Apple iPhone 3G. The comparison with the iPhone is inevitable - the 5300 has a similar (though less involving) touch interface, plus decent multimedia credentials. It's not as slick as the iPhone, is significantly thicker, and comes with a but Nokia users will find the software comfortingly familiar, and will enjoy the better 3MP camera with flash. Web browsing is good, the sound quality of the built-in MP3 player is excellent and unlike the iPhone it has an FM radio. Plus, you can control the touchscreen with gloves on, or use the built-in stylus - which is handy during the current Arctic weather conditions. Read our full Nokia 5800 XpressMusic review
